Barolo Del Comune di Barolo DOCG 2019 – Virna Borgogno
Virna Borgogno’s Barolo del Comune di Barolo DOCG is a wine that masterfully interprets the authentic soul of Nebbiolo, a pure expression of the Barolo hills. It displays a brilliant and intense ruby red. On the nose, it unfolds a refined and complex bouquet: juicy cherries, ripe plums, and blackberries blend with elegant floral notes of violet, earthy nuances, and fine spices. On the palate, it stands out for its powerful and harmonious structure. Soft, silky tannins support the body, while balanced acidity lends freshness and vivacity. The finish is long and persistent, with hints of tobacco, oak, nougat, and a light spice that enrich the tasting experience. The grapes, sourced from the finest vineyards in the Barolo municipality, are hand-picked and carefully vinified. Fermentation in stainless steel takes place at a controlled temperature to preserve its aromatic finesse, followed by aging for at least 24 months in large oak barrels, where the wine develops complexity and elegance. After a period of bottle ageing, it is ready to reveal its unique identity. A great Piedmontese red, ideal with braised lamb legs, beef fillet cooked in red wine, or aged cheeses.
